Assessment of quality of life and development of new, disease specific measurement instruments in inherited skin diseases
This research aims to explore the perceived QoL of patients with genodermatoses at different stages in their life (pediatric – young adult – old aged) and from the perspective of caregivers and/or families. Currently, treatment options are mostly limited to managing symptoms. The project will use a patient-centered, qualitative approach, combined with quantitative studies in order to develop group-specific questionnaires and ultimately improve personalized care.

Vitiligo, Sleep and Quality of Life: the role of phototherapy and inflammatory cytokines in this relationship
The aim of the research project is to investigate the possible clinical and biological correlations between vitiligo, QoL and sleep, examining the role of phototherapy and inflammatory cytokines. by undertaking a prospective study using specific questionnaires and serum component analysis,ùn the project expects to demonstrate that phototherapy improves sleep and quality of life in vitiligo patients, potentially by influencing circadian rhythms and immune markers.

Evaluating The Quality of Life and the Impact of Therapeutic Patient Education for People with Oculocutaneous Albinism in Nigeria
This research project aims to evaluate and improve the quality of life of people with albinism (PWA) in Nigeria, a country with the largest population of PWA in Africa. The major concerns of PWA include ultraviolet radiation-induced dermatoheliosis and high skin cancer risk, poor eyesight hindering education and employment opportunities, stigma and discrimination The project will assess existing quality of life and implement a six-month program combining patient education through social media, an online community platform and in-person workshops for family and teachers.

Integrating one-on-one nurse-led eczema education into dermatology outpatient consultations enables patient outcomes, self-efficacy skills and patient/carer satisfaction: a pilot study
This project proposes a unique care model integrating dermatologist consultations with dedicated nurse-led patient education, aiming to empower patients and improve self-efficacy in managing their eczema. Eczema necessitates extensive patient education for effective management, however the current healthcare model struggles to provide sufficient time for this education, especially in regional areas where access to dermatologist is limited. The study will evaluate this model’s impact on patient outcomes, satisfaction, and potentially influence healthcare policy decisions.

The goal of this project is to conduct an online education pilot program for patients with atopic dermatitis. The program aims to improve treatment adherence, enhance patients' understanding of the disease, and assess the impact of AD on quality of life. By leveraging digital technologies, the program would provide accessible and convenient support while minimizing additional costs for patients and caregivers.

This research aims to investigate the impact of eczema on the quality of life of patients in Kenya, which has been largely unexplored in Africa. The author anticipate that the findings may contribute to the development of local treatment approaches, improved support services, and raise awareness about the need for additional dermatologists and better skincare products for eczema treatment.

RARE DISEASE: IMPROVING QUALITY OF LIFE IN INDIVIDUALS LIVING WITH NEUROFIBROMATOSIS TYPE 1 BY DEVELOPING A DEDICATED HYBRID PATIENT EDUCATION PROGRAM
The goal of this project is to enhance the patient education program for individuals with Neurofibromatosis 1 (NF1) by introducing hybrid sessions to increase participation. The project aims to combine in-person sessions, e-learning modules, and webinars to reach a wider population, including those with mobility disabilities, work constraints, and geographical limitations. By incorporating these adaptations, the project seeks to improve the quality of life for NF1 patients.

PHOTO-PROTECTION: QUALITY OF LIFE AND SUN PROTECTION BEHAVIOR IN ORGAN TRANSPLANT RECIPIENTS WITH SKIN CANCER
The study aims to investigate the quality of life and sun protection behavior in organ transplant recipients with skin cancer. They plan to recruit 50 transplant recipients with a history of skin cancer and evaluate their quality of life at regular intervals. The study seeks to understand the impact of education and sunscreen on quality of life in this high-risk population.

PsoSTAR: PSORIASIS SELF-TARGETED APP FOR RESULTS
Our service is mainly focusing on Psoriasis, an inflammatory skin disease that symptoms mainly with dry skin lesions. Theses plaques can be itchy or sore, that really impacts quality of life of many patients. We are happy to have been awarded 25 000 USD by La Roche-Posay Research grants. This prize will be used to support patients. In liaison with the GLOBAL PSORIASIS ATLAS, we will develop a smartphone application with 2 main objectives: study and create data around the impact of psoriasis in the daily patient’s life, and help all patients though community resources, medication counselling, or survey to track symptoms.

"In my service we are focusing on patients suffering from rare skin diseases: Morbus Darier and Morbus Hailey Hailey. These pathologies terribly affect their quality of life with intense itching, pain, burning sensations. I am really happy to have been awarded 25 000€ by La Roche Posay Research grants: it will allow us to organize supportive medical events with psychologists, wound managers or surgeons to support these patients who are often forgotten and suffer a lot."

RARE DISEASE: INTERACTIVE MOBILE APPLICATION TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN STAGE I TO III BREAST CANCER PATIENTS: NONRANDOMIZED CONTROLLED PROSPECTIVE MULTICENTER COHORT STUDY
"In women, breast cancer is by far the one with the highest incidence and mortality rate. More than 80% of cancer patients develop skin side effects related to different treatments. The widespread use of smartphones and telemedicine makes daily reports of symptoms and side effects feasible through mobile applications. We are happy to have been awarded 25 000 USD by La Roche-Posay Research grants to develop our own mobile app to generalized to all breast cancer patients. This tool, easy to apply, will generate support for cancer patients."
